So who is Dr Bek Marketing? I’m a lover of Marketing, ABBA, Ancient History, Musicals, Travel and Cats so this blog aims to include all these passions. By day I’m a a marketing professor at QUT, by night I’m a secret creative writer (although maybe not so secret now :-)) . With over 25 years experience in marketing backed by a Ph.D from the University of Queensland, Australia, I’m aiming to philosophise the mysteries of life through a marketing lens. Hope you enjoy.

Marketing is amazingly flexible. Why? Because at it’s core, marketing is all about human behaviour, how people connect with each other and understanding how needs and wants can be satisfied. Isn’t that the very essence of life?
So this blog is a series of game plays and game plans which draw on marketing theories and frameworks to provide a strategy for life.
Brand elements
The symbol of the Ankh is from Ancient Egypt and represents the key of life. This blog will show readers how to use marketing as a key for life; unlocking roles, plays and game plans to bring marketing to life in a playbook. The colour purple is associates with power and wisdom, so this playbook aims to give readers a sense of empowerment and wise guidance. Finally the qualification of Dr provides credibility for the content of the blog.
